High‐performance healable plastics: Focusing topological structure design based on constitutional dynamic chemistry

Abstract Over the past three decades, significant efforts have been dedicated to developing polymeric materials with exciting healable ability; however, stiff and plastics high glass transition temperatures ( T g ) received relatively less attention compared their soft counterparts such as gels elastomers due inherent trade‐off between mechanical robustness dynamics. High‐performance are irreplaceable in fields of engineering industry, making it a challenging yet urgent task confer them desired properties whilst maintaining strength. In this review, we first present recent advances field high‐performance based on constitutional dynamic chemistry, from perspective different topological structures including linear‐, branched‐ network types. Meanwhile, also elaborate various toughening strategies for existing plastics, mainly centered around molecular micrometer scale modifications.
